As the Mayor of Burton, I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Community Church hub at Stapenhill. I was deeply impressed by the local congregation’s commitment to supporting the people of Burton on Trent through their community projects. Remarkably, they provide these services without any charge. The hub owes its daily operation to a dedicated group of volunteers, primarily members of the congregation.
In my role as a Social Prescriber, I frequently utilise the hub as a welcoming and secure space to meet with my clients over tea and cake. The vibrant atmosphere is filled with conversation, and newcomers are quickly put at ease, feeling warmly welcomed from the moment they step in.
