Where can you park?

There is plenty of road side parking on the streets around Main Street, we do ask that we avoid parking on Convent Close and Five lands Road.

What should you expect?
Our morning services are always full of life. On your first morning with us you will receive a welcome pack which will tell you more about us – and if you have children with you, they will get one too!

Our services start at 10.30, usually with some worship songs lead by one of our worship leaders and the worship band.  There will always be someone leading the service who will explain the format for the morning and will announce when it’s time for Kid’s Church to start. Click here for more information about Kid’s Church

Younger children stay in for the whole service and we provide toys and colouring at the back for under 4s. We don’t mind how much noise the children make!

A number of different people preach at The Community Church. Sometimes we have visiting speakers, sometimes it’s someone from the Leadership Team or someone that the Leaders decide would be great to speak about a specific subject. Everyone who preaches at TCC is a trusted member or friend of the church.

In our services there is always the opportunity for someone to pray with you and we are keen to see the work of the Holy Spirit at work in our gatherings, bringing healing and wholeness to everyone who is open to Him.

There is usually an offering, which is an opportunity to give financially into the work of The Community Church. There is never any pressure to give into the offering. For more information about giving, click here

Our services will usually finish at around 12 noon which gives opportunity to stay around for coffee and a chat.

What should you wear?
Most people who attend are usually dressed in a casual manner, for example t-shirt & jeans. However, if you would like to wear your new suit or dress you are totally welcome!

Do You Have Any Events For Newcomers?

We periodically run connection events to give those who are new an opportunity to find out more. If you would like details of one of these, please contact us.

Worship

Our morning services usually start with a time of celebration and passionate sung worship. This normally lasts 20-25 minutes and will be directed from the front. All the words are on the screens so if want to, you can sing along. We encourage you to relax and engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all. We encourage everyone to feel free to express their worship to God in whatever way they want to.

We don’t have rules about when to stand and sit. We don’t mind what you do! Sometimes the person leading the meeting may encourage everyone to stand up if they are willing and able.

Usually in our service we will communicate any important notices and events for the coming weeks. We also express our thanks to God through our offering but there’s no pressure to give financially if you don’t want to.

What About My Kids?

During term time, we run Kid’s Church for ages 4-11 (Reception – Year 6). Kid’s Church is a great environment where the kids have fun and learn about the Bible in creative and fun ways. Sue Garb, Director of Burton Youth For Christ heads up our Kid’s Church team.

Kid’s Church happens in their own room at the side of the main hall. All parents/carers are required to fill in a Consent Form before their children attend. Copies will be available when you arrive, or you can download one here (X) We operate a numbered signing in system for all children in Kid’s Church in line with our Safeguarding Policy. All our workers at Kid’s Church are DBS Checked.

If you have children under 4, we are happy for them to stay in the service and do our best to provide colouring and toys to keep them entertained. We don’t mind if they make noise!

There are baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet.

Every other week, during the talk, there is a group for younger teenagers aged 11-14 which gives those who are too old for kids church but not quite ready for a weekly preach the chance to learn about the Bible in a fun and interactive way.

Sunday Morning

Normally after worship we have a relevant and meaningful talk. Our talks are challenging, biblical, inspiring and applicable to all of our lives. We design them to last around 30 minutes so you can rest assured that you wont be sitting in the service for hours!.

At the end of the talk we reflect on what we have heard and often give an opportunity to respond. We usually provide an opportunity to make a decision to follow Jesus at this time; there is no pressure in this moment but we always want to give the opportunity.

And after that – well; we are done! If you are new, we will try and speak to you and make you feel welcome – please make yourself known to us – we’d love to get to know you more!  There is also lots of useful information at our information desk and in your welcome pack if you want to find out more.
